Person-Centered Care – featuring the Eden Alternative
Windsor Healthcare and Canterbury are pioneers in the Eden Alternative person-centered care approach, which empowers our residents to create a care program tailored to their preferences. Canterbury is one of only three communities in New Jersey that are Eden certified. We believe that every person is unique and special, and that aging requires more than a one-size fits all approach. Upon joining a Windsor Healthcare Community, we learn all about the resident, including their background, preferences, and unique characteristics. We will use that information to craft an individualized program to meet those particular needs and choices, with constant feedback from the resident to adapt and adjust as necessary. Residents are encouraged to make choices about their daily living, from activities to room décor.
We know how important food is to maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle. At Canterbury Care & Rehabilitation Center, our chefs prepare gourmet cuisine that is nutritious and tasteful. Enjoy exceptional dining served by wait staff at tables with linen and fine china in our dining rooms to dine with friends. Rather take the meal in your room? As with everything at Canterbury, it’s your choice.
Be Creative at Canterbury
At Canterbury, Elders participate in creative and engaging activities. Some of the innovating programming currently found at Canterbury include CNN – the Canterbury News Network, a resident-produced news show filmed at Canterbury and broadcast over the Internet. Canterbury also features performance theater, with the Canterbury Drama Club recently teaming up with the Cedar Grove community and putting on West Side Story at a nearby playhouse.
