Director of Nursing Services needed for Long Term Care & Sub Acute facility in Cedar Grove, NJ. DON experience required with strong compliance and customer service history. Fulfilling this Care Partner Role To ensure the success of this crucial role, the following is required of the Director of Nursing Services: 

Regulatory Requirements

  • A current license and good standing license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
  • A career history free of abuse, neglect, and professional license violations
  • Actively participates in the WHC HOME ’s Quality Assessment and Assurance committee to identify issues with respect to quality assessment and assurance activities and, if necessary, develops and implements appropriate plans of corrections to correct identified quality deficiencies
  • Ensures that nursing services rendered are consistent with recognized standards of professional practice
  • Ensures that each resident’s incidents and accidents are documented, reported, and maintained in accordance with corporate policies and procedures and State/Federal requirements

Skilled Nursing Knowledge Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid programs, rehabilitation and restorative services, assessments and growth planning (care planning)
  • Extensive knowledge of current State/Federal requirements for skilled (SNF) and nursing (NF) facilities

Financial Responsibilities Requirements

  • Works with the Administrator care partner to develop, allocated, and control the budget for the Nursing Services Department
  • Effective reporting on financial goals and progress to the Windsor corporate team
  • Strategic planning, admissions and discharge and purchasing
  • Ensures that staffing and scheduling of nursing care partners are meeting the needs of the residents and State/Federal requirements

Operational Requirements

  • As a commitment to the Well Being of all the residents in the WHC HOME , the Director of Nursing Services is required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Develops procedures to maintain an adequate, competent, and caring staff that honors resident’s choices, preferences and Well-Being
  • Ensures the availability of nursing care equipment, supplies, and other ancillary services that are needed to promote resident’s safety and Well-Being
  • Coordinates nursing services with other departments to ensure that services are available to support resident’s needs
  • Collaborates with the Infection Prevention and Control Program team to ensure that the program components are implemented and are consistent with evidence-based infection prevention and control practices
  • Meeting with State and Federal regulatory authorities as required and acting as their primary liaison, in the absence of the Administrator, throughout any visit
